Welcome to Martin Christopher Opticians & Hearing Care. By using our services, website, or purchasing products from us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

Martin Christopher Opticians & Hearing Care is an independent optometry and audiology practice based in Attleborough, UK. We provide eye care, hearing care, and related services to NHS and private patients.

2. Appointments & Cancellations

  • Appointments can be booked via phone, in person, or online (if available).
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • Failure to attend a booked appointment without notice may result in a cancellation fee.
  • For NHS patients, repeated non-attendance may affect eligibility for future NHS-funded services.

3. Eye & Hearing Tests

  • We offer 40-minute eye examinations and 1-hour hearing tests to ensure a comprehensive assessment.
  • Our optometrists and audiologists provide professional advice based on clinical assessments.
  • Test results and prescriptions will be provided in line with UK healthcare regulations.

4. Prescriptions & Optical Products

  • Prescriptions for glasses or contact lenses are issued following an eye test.
  • We cannot be held responsible for incorrect prescriptions if tests are conducted by another provider.
  • Glasses and contact lenses must be used as per the optometristโ€™s instructions.
  • If you purchase glasses or contact lenses elsewhere using a prescription from us, we are not responsible for fitting or suitability issues.

5. Returns & Refunds

  • Prescription Glasses & Contact Lenses:
    • As these are custom-made products, refunds or exchanges are only possible for manufacturing defects or errors.
    • If an issue arises, please return the item within 30 days for assessment.
  • Hearing Aids & Accessories:
    • Refunds are only provided if there is a fault with the product.
    • A trial period may be available for hearing aids, subject to manufacturer terms.
  • Frames & Sunglasses:
    • Non-prescription frames and sunglasses can be returned within 14 days if unused and in original packaging.

6. Hearing Care & Ear Wax Removal

  • We provide comprehensive hearing tests and ear wax removal services.
  • Ear wax removal is conducted by a qualified professional using safe techniques.
  • If a patient has underlying medical conditions, we may advise seeking GP approval before treatment.
  • We are not liable for complications resulting from conditions that were not disclosed before treatment.

7. Payment & Pricing

  • We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and NHS vouchers (where applicable).
  • All prices include VAT (if applicable) and are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Full payment is required before dispensing glasses, contact lenses, or hearing aids.
  • For custom orders, a deposit may be required at the time of purchase.

8. Warranty & Repairs

  • Glasses and frames come with a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects.
  • Repairs outside the warranty period may incur a charge.
  • Damage due to accidents, misuse, or general wear and tear is not covered.

9. NHS & Private Patients

  • We offer services for both NHS and private patients.
  • NHS eligibility for free eye tests and optical vouchers is subject to NHS guidelines.
  • Private patients are responsible for full payment unless covered by an insurance or employer scheme.

10. Liability & Disclaimer

  • We provide professional advice based on clinical assessments, but we do not guarantee specific results from any treatment.
  • We are not responsible for damage or injury caused by misuse of optical or hearing products.
  • If you experience discomfort or issues with your eyewear or hearing aids, contact us immediately.

11. Data Protection & Privacy

  • We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Patient data is kept secure and only used for healthcare and administrative purposes.
